Q-Vation™ Tips

The addition of specialty coatings, techniques and inks deliver experiential packaging — bringing your product to life. At Quality Assured, we call our line of specialty printing Q-Vations. Some of our most popular solutions are showcased in our Metal, Sensation, Go Wild, and Brand Protection Series. Below are a few tips for incorporating
Q-Vations into your packaging.

texture with purpose

Package designers have long considered texture a solution to differentiate their products in the marketplace. The tactile bonus can be the little push that helps a product make it from the store shelf to the consumer's cart. Texture on packaging can be more than aesthetic. By selecting the right kind of texture and application, designers can provide consumers with a gripping surface to help open the product and prevent slip for products such as soaps and shampoos. Texture is part of our Sensation Series.

save with selective metallization

Achieving the look of luxury through metalized specialty printing can save time, resources, and bottom line when you select a printer with the capability to add metallization techniques in-line during the printing process. With inulin metalized applications such as foiling and metallure, metallic looks can be achieved without the expense of metalized board or additional tooling. Transportation, man-power, and set-up waste is reduced, thumbing adding cost and environmental savings to the finished package. For added design flexibility consider transparent inks over foiling to achieve custom metallic looks. Our Metal Series includes additional metal specialty printing techniques.

Glow-in-the-dark ink, not just for halloween

Images of ghosts and jack-o-lanterns come to mind when many packaging professionals hear the words "glow-in-the-dark ink," overshadowing the marketing potential for this specialty ink. Glow-in-the-dark ink can be applied to labels, blister cards, and cartons to increase shelf appeal. In addition to products targeted towards children, many marketers consider adding the ink to products commonly used in low light situations to stand out. Think beer, wine and spirits sitting on the shelf or in the hands of the consumer at a bar or nightclub. Of course, specialty promotions for the Halloween season are also great opportunities for glow-in-the-dark ink application. Glow-in-the-Dark ink is part of our Sensation Series.
